- REGARDING –FINANCIAL MATRIX AND ANDREW SMITS
I have been a long time user of financial matrix as my broker and was told by my family that it was important to have appropriate cover for the unseen circumstances that may arise. Well the challenge is to figure out what is ‘appropriate cover ‘. My expertise is in my work –not insurance, so I have been guided by Andrew is this. For me, I have tried to stay active and healthy, and wise in how I live and work. I am an Electrician and also run a small commercial orchard exporting to Asia. Back in March of 2013 I was wiring a granny flat when I tripped when coming off my ladder – a three stepper, As an Electrician I spend a good chunk of time up a ladder – so normally all is ok. This time there was boxes close by and I fell back, outstretched on to my hand. I heard it break. Off to the local doctors. Cast and X-rays confirming this. Bad things happen – so 6-8 weeks in a cast I thought, “My first broken arm –not too bad for 53 yrs.” Well, as things unfolded –they missed seeing the details of the damage in the X-ray till the 6 week mark. The bones were out of alignment, hopefully physio would fix this. As it turned out 18 months of physio didn’t fix things. My hand needed to be re broken, then a bone graft and a further 6 months of recovery. It is now over 2 years and I am still recovering. We would have been ruined if it wasn’t for appropriate loss of income cover. It’s hard enough re-establishing normal life as it is, but with income cover the wheels stayed on and we are getting through. Back when I signed up for cover I was naïve to the effects an accident could have, I am so grateful for taking Andrews wise advice learnt from years of experience. You never know what events are ahead in life –stay safe
